Duke Nukem Forever: Demo out June 3

Firstly, he’d like to reassure everybody:
“The development team has so much passion and commitment, we’re knocking down tasks left and right. It is happening. This game is going to ship.”
…and there you have it. The playable demo for Duke Nukem Forever will be available in just over two weeks, starting June 3rd. That’s for all three platforms – Xbox 360, PS3 and PC (via Steam), so you shouldn’t miss out based on your fanboy tendencies.
However, you might miss out if you’re not in the First Access Club. Make sure you get that sorted out nice and early – you’ve got a couple of options.
The first one is to pick up the Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands, also from Gearbox Software. If you’ve already got your copy, you should already have your First Access information (I hope you didn’t throw it out!).
The second option is slightly more direct, if you’ve already got Borderlands or simply aren’t interested in Claptrap’s story. Head to your local gaming emporium (check in advance that it is a participating retailer), and plonk down a pre-order for Duke Nukem Forever. Hey presto, you’re in the Club!
You’re not seeing double…
You’re not seeing double…
Duke Nukem Forever is launching – finally – on June 14th in North America, and June 10th internationally. (We won’t believe it until we see it.)

Epic Games wraps up GOW3 beta

If you want to get one last Gears of War 3 fix before the game’s officially released in September, time is running out.

The beta version of the game has been up for four weeks, and has seen countless gamers jump in, unlocking skins, awarding medals, performing excecutions and decimating enemies – but, alas, there’s just a few hours left.

He’s waiting for you!
He’s waiting for you!

Epic Games will be turning off the servers at 2am PDT on Monday May 16th, which – at time of writing – is just over six hours away. After that – no more multiplayer matches for you!
…there is a glimmer of hope, though. If you’ve become quite attached to your Gears 3 saves (or the unlocks you’ve – err – unlocked), you’ll be able to keep them. It’s a simple matter of deleting the Beta executable by itself, and not touching your saved games.
The Epic Games Community Site makes it look so easy:
To delete the Gears 3 Beta but leave your saves intact:
  • Go to the System Settings menu on your Xbox 360
  • Select “Memory”
  • Select “Games”
  • Select the Gears of War 3 Beta (507MB) and delete it.
The dev team would like to thank everybody for playing Gears of War 3 over the past little while – and they’re looking forward to seeing you again in September!
